Which one shud i opt(testing or development) .please help?

hi I am software engineer,i worked for network security alorithm,using C.. i didn,t do much development work though.now that project is over. and I am idle. i am intrested in testing because i think testing is a good field where u get donmain knowledge as well as technical and functional knowlege.My boss is asking me to get in a development project of video encoder using C. i also wanna do some certification courses like LINUX,WINDOWS2003 server. and post grad too.. i think it will be simpler for me to go into testing domain and do things parelly coz development may require more efforts on my side.. and i may not be able to do manage things parallely.. i am very much confused as of shud i go into testing or delopment using C language .. help me

i would suggest testing ... its a hot field as of now.

one thing is common in world.The Thing which is near to us will be boaring but the thing which is far to us will be intresting.This is true.I always find development intresting because i'am working as a tester.Please remember this and act accordingly.
