School District Computer Technician?

I would like to get a job as a computer technician for a public school district in the greater Los Angeles area. Do public schools have their computers networked together? Do I need Network+ Certification in addition to A+? Or do I need further network certification, like Cisco, or something else?

Many thanks,

C.L.

School District Computer Technician?
In the Greater LA area you are competing with a very broad range of people. Many of us have years of experience in addition to A+,CNEs, MCSEs, and so on. One of the things that is separating the best from the rest is a bachelor's degree in Computer Science in addition to the certifications.
Reply:Rather than asking on here, you should probably get a hold of the School District itself and see some of the certifications that would help you get a job like that.
Reply:well if you really want proper help, rather than name the certifications you have.. tell us about your experience, what have you learned in the past few years.. projects you have worked on etc.. I have been contacted many time for jobs in LA and orange county district offices but have turned them down.. But if u want more help then repost or add more about your experience and what you know and dont know.
Reply:A+ will be just fine, you'll have to apply through a local schoolboard. ORRRR...you can start your own company and bid for the government maintenance contracts. Goodluck!
