Where do you start in getting your CCIE certification? how much does it cost to complete and what type of?

requirements are there. Do you have to learn any computer languages such as C,C+,C++, Java, etc before you start training? Also do you have to get CCNA certified or CCNP before you could do CCIE?

thanks

CCIE are amazing and most revered in Cisco Networking work. No programming language is required, but you usually spend 15 years in the industry before you get the certification. The test includes wiring and setting up communication services in a 48 hour period for a building, including making your own cabling, schema and documentation. The cost of the test is about $2000.

CCNP is the first step (sometimes skipped), then CCNA, from there several certifications exist, but CCNA is usually enough to get a job. The CCNP and CCNA tests are about $200 each.

The real difficulty is getting real routers/servers to work with and cabling/RJ45s set you back some too, you also probably need switches and hubs, and a good wire-tester.
