Will i receive a certificate to certify that my dog is the stud dog, how do i prove he is?

i have been asked to use him for one of my friends girl as stud. he is registerd k.c in the u.k / all innoculations and hip/eye scored, his father was a champion, and in his line he has numerous champs.

will the k.c give me some certification to prove my boy is the father of the litter?

do they contact me to check i am the owner as she is not my b11tch he has mated with?

i would prefer some sort of verification that he is the daddy! [for future stud practice]

couldnt find were this was asked before so any info would be grateful .

cheers.

You will be required to sign the litter registration application, stating that your dog is the sire.

If you need to ask this question here, you don't know anywhere near enough to be breeding.

Please go do some serious research on responsible breeding.

Reply:No you won't. Presumably the dam is also kennel club registered and the puppies will be. In which case, details of the litter will appear in the Breed Record Supplement which is the only record you will have. Just because your dog has champions in his line is no guarantee that he himself will produce quality pups. Hopefully, the ***** he is being used on is good quality because the stud dog's reputation is built on what he produces. You are unlikely to have good quality bitches lining up to use your dog unless his puppies are good specimens of their breed.
Reply:I would think that the owner of the dam would have pedigrees for the litter and the info. would be there. Maybe get a copy of the litter registration when she submits it with the litter info?
Reply:if you get his pedigree certificates and you should contact the kc and ask them if you can register a stud dog they will ask for pedigree numbers and code or/and name and you will receive a certificate to prove that it is a stud
Reply:Yes you will. The certificate will say. The stud dog.

Reply:The owner of the ***** will have to register them with the Kennel Club, the stud dogs name will be on the registration forms as the Sire. Ask for a copy of the forms from the mother'ys (Dam's) owner. However unless a dog is taken to KC shows and is successfully shown regularly it is unlikely that serious breeders would be interested in using him.Just because a dog has champions in his pedigree it does'nt mean he will produce champions. In fact unless he his mated to a ***** of very good quality it is unlikely that he will produce anything better than typical specimens of the breed. Hope you find this answer usefull
Reply:the dog and ***** are both on the certificate once the puppies are registered.

You could always put your dog on the kennel club stud books, then people looking to mate can get in touch and all above board
Reply:The ***** owner will have to register the puppies and should put your dog as the stud, Just ask her for a copy of the pupppies registration papers - or better still, make it part of the stud contract that she must provide you will this info and photos of the puppies.
Reply:Everyone will know anyway - he'll be boasting about it as he walks down the road. It's a male thing!
